The Challenge

Radio listeners wanted a modern mobile experience with user accounts, direct communication with station admins, and better control over listening time to avoid excessive usage.

Our Solution

I built Jaw Radio using Flutter and Firebase, integrating live audio streaming with secure user authentication and real-time chat for admin support. A custom sleep-lock feature was implemented that restricts app access for 24 hours once the user’s listening limit is reached.

Technical Challenges

Managing continuous live audio streaming while synchronizing real-time chat and enforcing usage restrictions required careful background state and local storage management.

The Outcome

Jaw Radio delivered a more engaging and responsible listening experience, increasing user retention while giving listeners full control over their daily usage.
